We found great value in the antenatal meetings, during which we were able to freely ask questions and discuss what birth was all about. A and G, Nottingham

Birth preparation

You may not want to employ a doula but feel you would benefit from a personalised birth preparation session.

During the process of booking with your midwife and hospital, going through the system and protocols, it is easy to forget that pregnancy and birth are a normal, natural part of life. Sometimes it is necessary to reconnect with that, to become informed about the birth process and the rhythm of labour, to learn to trust and believe in your body's innate ability to birth and to be inspired by positive birth stories that remind us of the miracle of birth.

The individual nature of these sessions ensures that you and your partner can approach the birth of your baby with the feeling of confidence that will give you the best opportunity to have the birth you want. Each session is designed to fulfil your needs, but may include explaining birth physiology, discussing a previous birth experience, giving your partner ideas of ways to best support you through the labour, discussing and developing a birth plan and breastfeeding.

Included in the cost is a Birth Information Pack, to assist you in preparing for the birth of your baby. This is full of positive and inspiring information which will guide you in making the best choices for yourself and your baby.

Birth preparation sessions are usually run in the evening, but if you need a weekend date I am happy to fit in whenever possible.
